How it all began

Meet the makers

Edie + Brian Himmel started creating flavored lip balms back in 2003 with one goal in mind: combining wholesome, clean ingredients with uniquely super cool flavors. Frustrated with the lack of creative options in the natural space, we set out to create a lip balm line unlike any other. There were many 3AM experiments to craft the perfect lip balm formula, this quickly turned into our obsession. After hundreds of trials, we had finally done it. We were beyond elated and couldn’t wait to share our special recipe with the world. And just like that Crazy Rumors was born!

Between then and now, it has been one crazy ride!

2005
We hopped on a NYC subway with a duffel bag full of balms and promise. Traveling from store to store, we were amazed at the response. The first rumors have officially been spread.

2007
We made the move from NY down south to Florida. We left our bright yellow kitchen behind, where the very first batch of lip balms were made stove top, and leased our first warehouse (all 400 sq feet of it).

2010

Our spunky daughter Sophie came into the world, tasking us with another grand job – PARENTS!
Did you know Sophie loves coming to work with us (when she’s not in school) and enjoys packing web orders. She may have even packed yours! She rocks at it too!!

That same year, we made one more move to Atlanta Georgia, and to a much larger working space.

The next few years
Crazy Rumors really started to spread, especially Internationally. Did you know our lip treats are available in over 20 + countries?!

2016
The world met our super cute son Brandon, who completed our little family!

And today
We’re still whipping up our tasty, award winning, handcrafted lip treats. Did you know we make everything in small batches? Small batches = fresh balms! All locally made in Atlanta, GA USA!
