How it all began

Meet the creators
Brooklynites Edie + Brian Himmel started experimenting with delish flavored lip balms back in 2003 with one goal in mind: combining wholesome, high quality ingredients with creative, intriguing and super cool flavors. There were many 3AM experiments to craft the perfect lip balm. This quickly soon turned into our obsession! If it wasn’t perfect, it wouldn’t make the cut! It was trying, tiring and challenging but we were determined to make it happen. After what seemed like endless nights, we had finally done it. We were beyond elated and couldn’t wait to share our recipe with the world. Creamy butter like goodness with just the right amount of coat. And just like that, our first baby – Crazy Rumors – was born!
Between then and now, it has been one crazy ride!
We hopped on a NYC subway with a duffel bag full of promise. Walking store to store, we were amazed at the response. The first rumors have officially been spread across New York City!
We made the move from NY down south to Florida. We left our bright yellow kitchen behind, where the very first batch of lip balms were made stovetop, and leased our first warehouse (all 400 sq feet of it).
The world also met our first colored balms – the fabulous HibisKiss range, and we continued to spread the Crazy Rumors love.
Our spunky daughter Sophie came into the world, tasking us with another grand job – PARENTS!
Did you know Sophie LOVES coming to work with us (when she’s not in school) and enjoys packing web orders. She may have even packed yours! She rocks at it too!!
That same year, we made one more move from Florida just slightly up north to Georgia and to a much larger space.
The next few years
Crazy Rumors really started to spread, especially Internationally. Did you know our lip treats are available in over 20 + countries?!
The world met our super cute son Brandon, and we’re now happy to say our family is finally complete!
We’re still whipping up our tasty, award winning, handcrafted lip treats. Did you know we make everything in small batches? Small batches = fresh balms! All locally made in Atlanta, GA USA!
